I turn on my computer an it runs fine but after 5 min. it freezes the mouse doesn't freeze but i cant clik on anything and after another 5 min. it unfreezes and 5min. later it freezes again it does this over and over again
before this happened i kept getting like three viruses at a time and the next day is when my computer got messed up
I tried system restore but it doesn't work and I cant get my virus scanner to go on because I cant find the icon can someone please help me I dont know what else to do.

Reboot your PC in safe mode and then run your scanner, it should clear it. Once it's cleared reboot it in normal mode and clear your system restore (as viruses can lodge there to reappear later). Reboot again and then turn your system restore back on and it should be fine.

It is probably you have a virus, OR have you downloaded two firewalls? I did that when ! first got my computer and the same kind of thing happened, if that's what, as soon as you get on turn off one of them, then uninstall it immediately.
If it is a virus and your scanner wont work, I suggest going down to where you brought it from and asking them about it, because using safe mode, if you do one thing wrong, you may as well kiss good bye to your computer.

Good luck your gonna experience an OS reinstall. You probably got the virus through bearshare, frost, limewire or their ilk. This is NOT a hardware problem, it comes from letting our friends and brothers use our computer or it comes from thinking that music at limewire is free. You paid for it with data loss, slow performance and NOW an operating system reinstall. Put your os disk in the drive, hit your one time boot menu (usually f12) and reinstall windows. When it asks you what format choose "ntfs", NOT "ntfs quick". As you have found out, they can elude antivirs aps and even change hemselves to reappear. FREE MUSIC ISNT FREE. System restore does NOT take viruses off a computer.

this is something really irritaing........
first suggestion-
1.reboot ur pc and stat in safe mode
2.uninstall lime wire and bearshare.
3.use ur registery clener.
4.use ur antivirus to SCAN UR WHOLE PC...............
5.delete all infected files.
6.if u get the same problem in safe mode then reinstall ur WINDOWSXP.
7.plz guys use some good antivirus such us AVAST OR AVG.
i have beeb using avast for last 1 year and my pc works absolutely fine.it automaticallt detecets all virus.so u dont need to scan for it.

try this free registry error tool. and it also has some spyware & virus removal deffinitions too. http://www.iobit.com and you need to restart your computer & when the pc starts to reset,you click F-8 and keep clicking untill it opens the start page option. use the arrows on your key board to move up to safe mode with networking, then click the enter key.this will start your pc in safe mode & then open youe start-all programs- and select your anti virus-then right click on it and choose open. this will open up antivirus tool and you can scan from safe mode to fix virus's good luck.
