Just wondering if this is possible. Sorry if it sounds silly. I live in the UK so any refs is helpful.

look on ebay for a used replacement,, usually cheaper than repairing and way cheaper than buying a new one
If you just have a broken wire or bad connection on your power supply you might have it soldered.

It usually isn't cost affective to repair laptop power supplies if they can be repaired at all. But there are allot of sites that sell these power supplies at reduced prices. Here's one: http://www.geeks.com/products_sc.asp?cat=625

Do you know what is wrong with it? We had ours repaired, but it had the pin suck in it from the female end on the laptop.

It's cheaper to replace than to repair.
