I have been married for 18 years. I was miserable for the first 10 years because marriage was not what I thought it would be or should be. I finally realized that it is not his job to make me happy. The more I looked to him to make me happy the more he would pull away. I was bitter about this for a long time, but I decided that I wanted to stay married and I could choose to be miserable or make the best of it. I find my value and strength in God. There is no human on this planet that will ever be able to "make me happy" God gives me a peace that has nothing to do with circumstance. Peace is different than happiness. Sometimes I am happy about my circumstances and sometimes I am sad, but I always have an inner peace from God that makes everything okay no matter what.

I was married for 30 years and lost my husband feb.2006 and yes through all those years good and bad we stayed married through all the 3 kids and financial hardships we tuffed it out and we were just begining to live our live with each other and enjoying each other and then my life shattered so my advise to you is live each day to the fullest because its been hell and im just begining to get back to life.

I have been married for 43 years and I am happy with my life.
I must admit there were a few rocks along the road, though.
