If there were humans in space that were lost and were found by astronauts Im sure that they would try to recover their bodies.

I think you would have to assume that they had a common ancestor and somehow the other population was transported from Earth.
Humans obviously evolved here and the chances of it happening independently elsewhere are vanishingly small.

They would believe this is a huge weapons testing lab like we think Lebanon,Iraq,and Afghanistan are being treated today by israel!
