I tend to have issues with my footwear. My feet are sensitive - they can't handle flip flops or most sandals because every single strap always seems to rub and literally cut up my feet. Every summer, I get scars from them! Or, the shoes are really cute without straps, but kill me after a block or so of walking. I do a lot of walking through the city to get to work, I end up handicapped with pain at the end of the day.

I have short legs, and high shoes really make my legs look great, but I can't handle another summer of foot pain and Band-Aids. But I don't want to resort to ugly sneakers and short-looking legs. Is there any way to get really cute shoes, that make me look taller, in which I can walk a decent distance without crippling myself?

I have the same problem with foot pain. My feet are very skinny...I wear a 9-10 but they look like a size 8 or something...but I have no arches, and if I don't have the proper support that you would get from a very good tennis shoe, my feet are killing me...feels like I'm walking directly on bone :(.

Straps can cut me up too. At least you know to stay away from them :).

Let me suggest that you get some shoe inserts. Dr. Scholl's. They even make the little kind for the ball of the foot only if you're gonna wear heels. Try those...I put the regular ones in my work shoes and they work wonders.

I've almost given up on finding decent heels to wear myself, because there are too many issues involved with it :(. Most recently I've found that the high shoes/sandles with the cork heel are pretty nice...good shock absorbers, I think. Look into those maybe, and couple them with the inserts. And you may want to try shoes with a less intense arch to them, if your shoes are like that. Gravity is gonna pull you down and strain your foot against the staps. And make your feet and back hurt.

Wearing high heels at first takes some getting used but after awhile you won't even know you have them on. Years ago I worked 8 hrs. a day in three inch heels but I couldn't do that today. I suffered from allot of back pain back then but I was never told it was because of the heels. It will put pressure on the nerves in your back and most doctors would discourage you from wearing high heels due to medical complications down the road. Bunions are also common with wearing heels. Let me specify that not everyone will experience this. I wore them everyday for 35 yrs. so I my situation is different, just don't make them your everyday shoe. Hope this helps.

firstly always pick up shoes that don't seem to cause any foot irritation at the store itself, wear them there and walk about for a while, if they don't hurt u then the shoe for u.

once u have bought them, apply a heavy moisturising cream or oil (for leather staps) on the inside of the starps on areas where u think they will rub against ur feet and leave for a couple of hrs.

this works like a charm coz i love high shoes myself but somehow can't get over the straps digging into my skin.
cushioned gel pads are also avaiable at all shoe stores for greater comfort.
happy shopping!!

i have long and narrow feet, and that is always a problem for my feet is getting cut up by shoes or my feet drowning in them because they are so wide. maby you should try a ballet flat, they make your legs look nice and you don't trip. or they have flat tennis shoes that still look nice and you can wear them with shorts. the source down below has some of the things that i mentioned just make sure you look at all of the pages. hope that helps! :-)

for comfort: try Cole Haan's G series ballet flats. They are so cute and incredibly comfortable.
for height: get some wedges from Coach. I cant a picture of them online, but they are really comfortable and about3 inches or 2 and a half inches tall.
