It's important enough to have it fabricated in Communist China and imported at no small cost, what with transport and import duties and whatnot. still cheaper than union made in america.

I don't know if this answers your question, but I think that politicians who wrap themselves in the flag for political gain do more damage to it than 10 people burning it.

Who has to teach someone how to burn a flag unless it is to retire a flag per the rules. That is a beautiful ceremony. If you have never participated in the retirement of a flag you should.

It has been used for personal gain for many decades now especially by flag waving republicans.
What I don't like is seeing the words "Made in China" on my American flag, and then having to pay about 3 times what a flag cost a few years ago.
