No, if racism were involved, Obama would NOT be a leading candidate for the Democratic nomination for president. The fact that he is a major candidate demonstrates Americans are looking for somebody with new ideas and who is not associated with the mindset of the past. His desire to "turn the page" on a host of issues taps into a desire on the part of many Americans that doing business the way things have been done in the past is simply insufficient as the United States settles into the 21st century.
He is tapping into voters who want to focus more on problem solving than rigid considerations of ideology, the latter seen by many as having contributed to the increasing polarization of American politics.

It has nothing to do with race. Obama is an effective leader with fresh ideas and the intelligence to communicate those ideas to the people. He would be just as attractive as a Republican candidate, but he would not be welcomed in the GOP due to some of his radical agendas that might interfere with conservative values such as OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. -RKO- 05/27/07

Dude,
I am a black man and I support Hillary Clinton. I do not use race or gender to judge someone. That's some bullshit. I don't care about Barack Obama. He can't do a damn thing for my natural black *** but kiss it. Support Hillary Clinton. mk? It just makes sense. And George, I don't know what a mfing RPG is either. Is that a white thing?

If he were not Black, he would still be an excellent candidate.
If being Black were such a huge political advantage, you'd think we'd have a lot more in office, wouldn 't you?

Ummm no. Why would you suggest that it is racism in the first place? I really do not care what race a person is etc. What I really care about is whether the person can actually do the job or not and if that person can be a good leader.

Some people ask the dumbest questions passing no regard to historical precedents. Hence why they ask dumb questions. ADD is a huge problem amongst americans, especially our young people in grade school.

I don't think race has anything to do with his idealism, intellect, and charisma.
