This is a very cute name. I love the name Aiden and the names Matthew. Together his name means Little fire(Aiden) and gift of god(matthew, meaning he will be strong baby boy =) congrats on being a god mother!

I think that's a beautiful name. However, I am involved in a playgroup with my son. There are about 10-12 kids that come weekly. There are three Aidans in the group alone where there are only about seven boys. So that's pretty much half the boys. There is also a girl Aidan so if you think about it that's a quarter of a small group with that name.
I think the name Aidan will be like the old Christopher. Where in a class room they'll be "Aidan C." Aidan W." and "Aiden J." LOL. Beautiful name but very very common!

Cute - ever since Sex in the City Aiden is gaining popularity though. But unless the parents-to-be asked you to name him, its really up to them.
