The AC is cold and it is only blowing out of the floor and dash(top) front vents. It's still cold it just seems to be blocked somehow. I have been told about the vaccum lines or something. Is this something that I may be able to fix for cheap or do I need to take it to a shop. Thanks

Could be a broken or loose vacuum line coming from the engine compartment---they usually crack or break first from all the engine heat making them brittle. Try to find a large plastic ball a little larger than a grapefruit under the hood--that is the vacuum reservoir where the vacuum is stored for your a/c and cruise---one hose to it comes from the engine to supply vacuum and there should be a hose to the firewall from this tank that supplies vacuum to the a/c controls to operate the blend doors in the a/c ductwork. There might be a check valve in this hose to prevent loss of vacuum and it could be bad....try bypassing it. Check this hose very carefully for breaks or loose connections---if it's ok, try to follow it into the car under the dash to the a/c controls and see if there's any leaks there, in the hose or at the connection to the a/c control---you may hear a constant hissing noise if there's a leak. Otherwise, the vacuum diaphram that operates the blend door in the ductwork for the center vents is bad or the door itself is jammed. You would probably need a shop manual to see how to replace the a/c control or diaphram---Eautorepair.net has online access to service manuals for a fee.

If its the one I'm thinking of, the vents are controlled by a vacuum hose connected to the check vale over by or under the battery on the left front of the car-real common for the hard plastic line to deteriorate if the battery has ever leaked.
Look for a trhee-way connection in that corner, or even slightly towards the rear by the abs unit

The AC flow direction is determined by round flaps inside the assembly under the dash. Sometimes they respond to the directions you dial in on your control via vacuum hoses, sometimes the switching is electric. Either way this repair should be relatively inexpensive. To help you locate these connections yourself would require me being there with you/car, sorry this is the closest I can get. Good luck

your flap that controls the direction of flow is malfunctioned. I dont know if its a lever or vacume hose that needs attention.
