Absolutely Brady Quinn. He has already played in a pro system at Notre Dame. He will also have time to sit back and soak in the system before he plays. JaMarcus Russell will have to play from day 1 on an exceptionally bad team. He will get no protection and will struggle for a while.

JaMarcus Russell sounds like Akii Smith.
Brady Quinn sounds like Tom Brady.

Smart people make smart decisions. That is why Jamarcus Russell was the number one pick and Brady Quinn went 22nd. Who cares what kind of offense Quinn played with in college. Coaches and owners saw raw talent and potential in Russell that they did not see in Quinn. Notre Dame getting skull-drug by LSU in the Sugar Bowl was just a bonus.

JaMarcus Russell will have a fast start with success. But, Brady Quinn for the long haul after a rough 2-seasons

Its really hard to judge these QB's because both come from very different backgrounds and playing styles. Quinn comes from a well coached school and has been productive, yet in big games he completely folds up. JaMarcus Russell did win the Sugar Bowl, has a big arm, big body etc.. but after that, where was this kid on the national scene before that?!?! Not to mention most of the time, he used his arm strength to overshadow his questionable accuracy. To me its what type of Quarterback you perfer: the polished, NFL ready QB in Quinn (although it looks like he was more of a product from a good system) or the shotgun, 60 yard hail mary type of QB in Russell.

Bottom Line: Although its going to take years to compare who was better, I have to give a SLIGHT edge to Jamarcus Russell. He does have the big arm, but the coaching staff REALLY needs to work with him on the fundementals of being a Quarterback, and not always relying on arm strength to get the job done. Brady Quinn on the other hand could be a good QB, but after seeing his mechanics, it might take him time to get over that and he needs to be in a good system to succeed.

JaMarcus Russell because he knows how to make plays. He can move around to get more time to throw or he could take off to run for a first down. He should be more successful than Quinn.

I would take Brady Quinn. First, cuz i root for ND and I hate LSU for the Sugar Bowl game. Second, what everyone says about Brady cant win the big game, give him LSU's defense, let's see the outcome of our game. Hell, we allowed 27 points to NORTH CAROLINA!!! Did they even get 2 wins????? Brady can immeditaely step in and give you a couple wins while JaMarcus Russell still has to learnt he pro offense.

got to go with russell. assuming brady quinn plays early. i think russell is more nfl ready to play and brady quinn almost has to sit out a year or two to get a better grasp of the nfl system. i think the pressure is on russell. u have to see what he can do without big game targets a la vince young last year

JaMarcus Russell, no doubt. Quinn is NOT pro caliber.

And whoever said the Raiders don't have D, doesn't know football. Thats ALL they had, and a pretty good one.
