My husband and i are TTC. I am slightly concerned because he wieght 13lbs at birth his 2 brothers wieghted almost 15lbs at birth and all 5 of his mothers brothers wieghted between 13-15lbs at birth. When a child is that large is a women still expected to push the child out or will the make other arrangement like a c-section or enduce labor earlier? Not saying i couldnt do it, but that is nearly double the size of the average newborn. And on that note, what lb limit are newborn clothes, and diapers?

All the babies on my husbands family were all 10lbs+ kids. His 3 aunts were 11-12lb babies. My family, the smallest was 7lbs, but they were all about 9.

Did you MIL have gestational diabetes? That is usually the culprit to big babies. I didn't have it and still had a big boy.

My daughter was 8lbs 2 weeks early and my son was 10lbs 2 weeks early. The dr will know if your baby is getting big through how your uterus is measuring and by an ultrasound. I wouldn't worry about it. Some drs will automatically do csections when your child is 10lbs+. On a side note, csections are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be...you just have to get moving.

0-3 month clothes go up to about 12 or 15lbs. My son basically went into 3-6 month clothes. If you get a lot of 0-3 month clothes, and have a big baby, just keep the tags on them as most retailers will return them. Have fun ttc and don't worry about big babies.

You aren't expected to do anything you dont want to do. You can request an elective caesarean if thats what you want. As for induction I'm not sure, I would say it's unusual for them to induce early due to the size of the baby, although personally I don't believe in induction unless its for really good medical reasons so perhaps not the best person to ask on induction. But if you want to try for a natural birth you should be encouraged all the way. Newborn clothes tend to vary, most go up to around 12lbs.

You may be induced early. Some doctors wont let the baby grow pass 10 lbs. You'll probably need size 0-3 mo. instead of newborn...they are good up to 12 lbs. so don't buy too many!

Newborn clothes are for up to 11 lbs.

Diapers you can start at size 1 or pampers makes a 1-2 size for babies up to 15 lbs.

just becaue his mom had big babies doesn't mean you will. It may have been she had gestational diabetes, which nowadays is watched closely than it was back then.
Even if you do have a "large" baby, doesn't mean that it's an automatic c-section. I've known lots of women who give birth to large babies, even one was a 14lb breech baby! Unfortunatley many OB's tend to think if your baby goes over a certain size that it can't be birth vaginally. There's only a small percentage of women who do have small pelvis that a baby truely can't fit through. It's always best to try it out and if your labor doesn't progress then you can opt for a c-section.

Yeah provide up the cereal and fruit. Cereal and fruit don't have everywhere close to the energy and fat in step with ouncesof breastmilk or formula. And in case you initiate solids until now 6 months maximum little ones initiate ingesting much less breastmilk/formula that's what they actually prefer. Edited to function: everyone else see a development right here? only bei...: "My daughter weighted 9lbs 12 ouncesat beginning. i all started her on cereal approximately 2 months and end result approximately 4. She did no longer double her beginning weight until she replaced into approximately 4 years previous." felicial…: "some little ones do exactly no longer income an excellent variety of weight. My little female is 5 months previous and weighted 7 lbs 10 oz. at beginning and a week in the past she weighted 17 lbs. as long as she's ingesting you may no longer be apprehensive. And as for giving the toddler cereal and end result I see no longer something incorrect with that. I had my little female on cereal at 2 months previous i replaced into putting it in her bottle because of the fact she replaced into ingesting plenty formula" --------- the two all started solids at 2 months. the two had little ones with sluggish weight income. accident? particular it relatively is a small pattern length, yet would not that advise that maybe, only in step with possibility solids may be the priority?

Wow!! You will have to have a c section. I'd imagine. He will probably go right into size two diapers and 3-6 months clothing. Or possible he will need size 6 months so he will be comfy. Good luck!!

They may have been big cause your MIL may have gestanial diatbets when she was pregnant.Juts cause they were big doesn't mean your baby will be.If you want a baby really bad that should be the least of your worries.I'm assuming that if your baby gets too large they will induce you so you can have it threw the birth canal.
