I assume you have a standard trans. If you can put the trans in geat and let the clutch out and it doesn't move, and the motor still runs and you can rev it, you probably have a worn out clutch. If you can't get it in gear and there is a large amount of grinding of gears ,then you can have clutch problems also. Broken standards tend to make a lot or noise when put in gear and letting the clutch out. May need more info on the symptoms.

Assuming this is a standard transmission, you should be able to try another gear besides 1st or reverse. If you put it in 2nd for example and it will untrack and go then you have a tranny problem. If not, then most likely a clutch/pressure plate problem.
If it's an auto, then the problem you describe sounds like you have burned up the clutch pack. I believe 1st and reverse share the same clutch pack in the auto transmission. This will require a rebuild.

Sounds like a clutch problem, to figure it out, do you have to bring the clutch almost all the way up for it to catch?, that would be the clutch, if it catches at half way or 3/4 than it is the trans.

It sounds like the two the grab grasp cylinder or the grab slave cylinder. while the reservoir is going empty, it does introduce air into the device which makes the grab no longer disengage genuine. yet you may desire to invite, what made it flow empty? you ought to start with the help of refilling the reservoir, bleeding the grab hydraulic device, then wait to ascertain what happens, yet risk is, one in all the two aspects (grasp cylinder or slave cylinder) led to the subject interior the 1st place. there is the opportunity of a leak in a line, even if it extremely is enormously uncommon.
