It is recommended that we all do about 30 Min's of light exercise a day.
Light exercise is considered to be that which would double your heart rate and cause minor raise in the body temperature.
For a gentleman of your years, it wold be recommended to start with walking, it would be an ideal way of increasing the heart rate and causing minor perspiration.

Of course that varies from person to person depending on how much needs to get done to be fit. Consult with your doctor who is qualified, trained, and licensed to give you expert medical advice. People on this site are not. Good luck.

hi i'm a personal trainer and it depends on what you want to achieve. If it's just general fitness then all you need to do is go walking maybe go bike riding, fishing basically keep yourself active and doing something . If you want to go to a gym then speak to one of the gym's personal trainers because you will be able to speak to them more about what you want and discuss any factors that stop you from doing anything in particular
