What you could do, is tell them that you'll wear a helmet and the other safety precautions every time you go ride. Learn everything about riding, and how to be safe. This will show your parents that you're mature to ride such a vehicle.
If money is the problem with your parents, start saving. That will prove 2 things: 1) You are mature enough to save money. 2) They might meet you half way with the cost.

Think of something else to do for an activity. They're not going to give up so live with it.

If you live in their house, you go by their rules, if they feel it is too dangerous you have to respect it. When you move out on your own you can do what you please.
