AVG and avast are both excellent. However if you have to ask this question, you may be the type of user that needs supprort. Neither Avast nor avg give support. All the good paid products give support and after rebate you can get it for FREE anyway. Of the Paid ones, trend (pccillin) and kapersky are the best. DO NOT use the free ones that you get from your ISP, they are stripped versions of real products and are usually worse than nothing at all. Useonly ONE antivirus product, more are NOT better, they actually fight against each other.

I use free AOL ActiveVirusShield but dont let AOL make you go DOH! It is made by Kaspersky Lab which are leading anti-virus makers for 2006 and 2007! its free to anyone and it detection rates are higher than AVG! NO AOL NEEDED!

You can download a full version of AVG from download.com. However, I use it and I find that some stuff gets past it.

AVG or AVAST
AVG AntiVirus

Avast Home Antivirus

(Note: Only use one anti-virus product as running more than one can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective. Same goes for firewalls)

AVG. It's meant for businesses, but there is a free version for home computers. The stuff you have to pay for you probably won't need if you aren't running a business ^_^
Hope that helps :)
