There should be a volume control on your task manager. See if the volume and wave button controls are all the way up. Is this a desktop or laptop? You also could need a new sound card. If its a laptop most people buy an external sound card to hook them up to speakers as they generally have awful sound.

why all questions are so indefinite?
did your speakers once work and suddenly happened what you said? Or you just put those speakers and they don't play loud? If the latter happens then you probabbly need a speaker amplifier cause they're not self-apmlified.
If there's windows problem check sndvol32 if the volumes are quite high. Go to Start->Run.. and type sndvol32 and check general volume and wave and the others.
I hope i helped

It is probably settings in one of the many players on the system. Open windows volume control. the speaker on the lower right hand coner, adjust that, then open each media player (windows media, viewpoint, real, etc.) and adjust them. It is probably NOT a hardware issue, just a settings issue.

Some speakers have volume control on the subwoofer or one (usually the right) satilite.

Go to Start>programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume control and adjust the volume there and see if that was the issue.
