Jacqueline Wilson
She always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first "novel" when she was nine, filling countless Woolworth's' exercise books as she grew up. As a teenager she started work as a journalist working for a magazine publishing company in Scotland. She has been writing full time all her adult life.

Andrew Clements is a fabulous author. He has a young adult book that won the California Young Reader Medal, Things Not Seen, is very different from his other school oriented stories.

Rick Riordan wrote The Lightning Thief. I didn't like it, but I'm not big on fantasy. It is an epic adventure that ties in Greek myths. Lots of action, one battle after another. I recently saw a child glued to it.

I have read most of Andrew Clements books although not his beginning readers ones.

The one he is most known for is Frindle the story about a boy who makes up a new word for pen and gets every student to use that word instead. It's a sorta me against them story with a wink. Secretly his teacher is pleased by his creativity but works hard to get him to conform. It's a really really good book and a great vocabulary builder.

Most of Andrew Clements books have the same theme elements. A teacher, a student, a conflict. They are all really good and quite humorous.

I almost never hear my own voice. A lot of the time I hear a british accent. Actually most of the time I do. Or I mentally read in a more proper, old times way. It's just better.
