Yahoo news say from Memorial Day last year to this year, over 900 Americans died, while the matching previous period, only 800 someAmericans died. How does escalating American death toll equate with greater success?

No offense Kim, but that is a formidably and memorably stupid list. (WTF is a "race pimp"?)

You just proved the point I make in another asker's thread, which is that children buy into partisanship in politics because it makes it fun for them, like a sports game.

bossy babe, as appealingly sweet and naive as the idea is that the average grunt could tell us anymore about the big-picture progress of the war than Rosie, it's clearly wrong. You can't analyze a flood when you're in water up to your eyebrows.

By the way, if Rosie doesn't know as much as the average infantryman, why do so many cons take what O'Reilly and Limbaugh -- the talking head's talking heads -- say about it as gospel? They pretty much make reality up as suits their needs, those boys.

"Victory means exit strategy," "and it's important for the president to explain to us what the exit strategy is."

Look at other news sources besides Rosie and CNN. Ask a soldier.

All the news media does is report casualties not victories.

I think Kim's list is right on, the lib answerers on here prove it every day.

there is no evidence to support this latest of fallacies by the bush administration.

bush predicts that it will be a difficult summer, but not for him.

he will spend months at a time vacationing while the soldiers he has sent out to secure his legacy live in a sweltering hell with second rate equipment supplied by republican friendly companies - while the good stuff stays at home.

don't think the usa can't lose here - it was only after the germans accepted their technological inferiority in WWII that they were truly defeated. when the tiger tanks couldn't move through the mud in early spring, the germans declared it 'mud season' and ignored the fact that the shermans and t-34's were churning through that same mud.

it's only by accepting failure as a legitimate option that we lose. in this case, the failing was in the decision to go there in the first place.

we should have stayed in afganistan and made it clear that we were going where ever bin laden was - be it pakistan or saudi arabia.

the sad truth is that going into iraq was the losing decision and the best thing to do now would be to redeploy our troops where WE CAN GET SOME FRIGGIN PAYBACK FOR 9/11!!!!

Apparently Bush and co. judge victory by the number of scalps on thier belts... but in this case the deaths are our own.

There is no excuse for this pig headed idea that the war is going well.. give me a break. and there is no reason for us to even be there. They did not beg us to come and get them killed.. did they?
