A new health scare erupted over soft drinks last night amid evidence they may cause serious cell damage. Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in drinks such as Fanta and Pepsi Max has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA.

Its hard to know what to believe these days regarding so many health / food scares! but the best advise I take to heart is to eat and drink healthily (excluding my vice of coffee of course oh and the odd vodka..........and Pringle's........once you pop you really can t stop lol) I don't drink or buy fizzy pops or squashes and don't buy them for my kids,I always buy 100% fruit juices or tell my kids to drink water or milk.They never miss it because they have never had it.I don't think its any surprise that a highly processed product is bad for you!..I am no saint but I try my best to avoid food that is highly processed.

You are right. Sundrop (a citrus drink) can cause severe kidney damage..source..a friend of mine found out the hard way. She has severe kidney damage..Good timely question.

yep..I know..read in newspapers, magazines, internet...They're harmful..But I love them..I dont know what to do..i am kinda addicted to Softdrinks...=(
