Just bought a 2006 Cobalt with 14K miles. The key can be pulled out of the ignition while car is being driven. (Even on the express way) Is this normal or should I get it checked out?...it's under warranty. Are ignition problems common on the 06 Cobalt?

It's OBVIOUS this isn't normal. I think this is a great risk, because if the key socket is cracked any dude can step in your car, plug in the keys and drive it off.
Have the key and the socket checked immediately.

No the key shouldn't be able to come out with the ignition turned on or in the accessory position. The only position that the key should come out in is the lock position.

I would get it checked out, as this may lead to further ignition problems down the road.

I also own a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and mine doesn't do that.

alot of cheys are known for this. there isnt a problem with it as long as the key still works fine to start the car. you can take it back into the dealer and they may replace the ignition switch under waranty but it doubt it. if it isnt broke they wont fix it and it still works so i would just leave it alone

well that is a BIG problem because you usually can't pull our a key while the ignition is on....i would say you should check with a specialist immediatly and if somethings wrong use the warranty

um i dont really know the answer but my grand am does the same thing. you can just slide the key out, not turning it or anything, and the car just keeps running like nothing.
