You are absolutely correct, you should never put milk in Earl Grey, you should only use cream.

is there really a rule of tea and milk??? to each it's own right? but i would say i have never poured milk in my tea, must be an overseas thing...nothing but water and lemon slices for me.
but maybe i'll try it one day.

Actually, you should not put milk in either tea or coffee, it neutralizes any benefit that you'd otherwise derive from them.
