Well since I was born and raised here in eastern Kentucky I would have to put that into the mix BUT...
I've traveled to about 26 states and so far, I hated Wisconsin with a passion, the part we went to in Milwaukee was so dirty, this was in the early 80's. I loved Montana, Wyoming, etc., but got severe altitude sickness and had to fly home early.
I live in Chicago from 1983-1997 working as a nurse and I hate it with a passion. WAY too many people, to much noise, too many people, too many cars, too many people, too much traffic, too many people......they could blow it off the map as far as I'm concerned. You can't take a country girl raised on a rabbit farm in eastern Kentucky and put her in the middle of Chicago and have a good outcome. I did housecalls for the hospital (drawing blood) for 13 years and am STILL in therapy and on Valium. I've never hated a place so badly.

favorites---
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming, and New Jersey
All of them have nice cold winters, the people are actually civilized (well, not in New Jersey, but whatever) and the crime rate is practically zero (Well, again, not in New Jersey...)
Least fav..--
California, A large section of Alabama, New York, the Carolinas, and West Virginia....Crime and a weird abundance of just really stupid people, I dont hate the others NEARLY as a much as I hate California...California is top on my list and always will be, the culture, the politics, the vanity....Ugh, don't ever go there, and if you live there, RUN!

Michigan is Great with all the Lakes!
California is nice for the weather, and you can be at the Ocean or Snow within the same day.
But my Favorite is "a state of bliss" ;)

OJLAHOMA IS MY FAVORITE . i have lived in other states and i would have to say Nevada is my least favorite. Oklahoma is my home state. Once an OKie, always an Okie. I don't like Nevada because of the desert. And miles and miles of nothing.
