I went off the Yasmin pill 5 weeks ago and had my last period April 21st. I had only been on the pill for 9 months. Last time I went off it, the same brand, after being on it for 7 years, and everything was back to normal the first month, so I figured it would be the same this time. Well today is day 36, and I had some brown spotting on day 35 and day 35 . I thought of implantation bleeding, but that usually occurs before you skip your period. I took a pregnancy test on Thursday night, day 33, and it was negative, but maybe it was too early. I have felt for about 6 days like I'm going to get my period and now I'm really frustrated. I have never gone this long without a period. I feel under the weather a little and am really tired. Obviously I'll go to the doctor next week if I still dont have my actual period, but I was wondering if any of you have gone through this before. Thank you.

My first cycle off BC was short 24 days I don't think I ovulated that month. My friend was on the same brand and hers was 40. So everyone is going to react differently. MY OBGYN said after 3 cycles you are back to whatever is normal for you. So I suggest giving it time. Waiting sucks but that is a lot of what TTC is. Waiting to finish your period, waiting to ovulate, waiting to test, waiting to get AF. It's like going to the DMV everyday!

Good Luck!

When I got off birthcontrol after being on it a year, I didn't have my period for almost two months. Your body has to readjust because you aren't adding hormones into your body. Also, if you are worring about it a lot, this can cause you to be late also. Stress can mess up your hormones. If you feel like you are going to start soon, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I was so worried when I didn't have my period that I went out and took a pregnancy test. After it came back negative I was so relieved and I wasn't stressed anymore. About two hours after I saw the negative, I started.
