I am strongly considering a move to Texas. I like the people, weather, attractions, cost of living, everything about it better than Kentucky! Plus, TX has the most beautiful women I've seen.
For those who have lived there or visited, what do you think? Are my observations about Texas correct? (I like to think so.) Thank you!

Looking into: Lubbock, Waco, San Antonio, and Fort Worth.
Houston sounds great, as in maybe just a great place to visit. Dallas does not appeal to me at all.

I live in Fort Worth and I really like it. It's a big city yet still isn't as stressful and huge as Dallas or Houston. Downtown Fort Worth is really nice, it just feels rich. Homes are affordable here and there are plenty of them. Texas isn't all just a bunch of cowboys and cows though, I have only rode a horse about 3 times in my life i think, lol. If you want upscale shopping such as Gucci or Tiffany & Co., you have Dallas and Houston for that, I don't know of any fashion houses being in Fort Worth, but that also is what is nice though is Fort Worth isn't that far from Dallas. Fort Worth has pretty much everything else you need and plenty of museums and such. Texas as a whole isn't really that bad to me, I love my state, and am pleased with it so far.

After living in Houston the last 18 years I would have to say you are about 70% right. Where you are a lttle wrong is the weather. The humidity here is a real difficult thing to deal with.
As far as the rest. Yeah, it is not a bad place to live.

Austin is pretty sweet.... but I much prefer Kentucky (or for that matter Tennessee)...But, i will say for Texas, they do have a terrific police force down there and in cities like Houston or Dallas (where you would expect crime to be horrendous) it is not that bad...Good job Texas!

I lived in Texas for 35+ years, 15 of that being in the Houston area. I loved it there.
If you don't like hot, humid weather, avoid Houston.

I've lived in almost a dozen different states on both coasts and within the mid-states and Texas has been the best overall.
Its just nicer here for more reasons than I can get into.
