A person has matured when they accept that they alone are responsible for the consequences of their actions - blaming others has become a thing of the past. When this happens, maturity has occurred. Age has nothing to do with it.

Well, most immaturity stands out like a swollen thumb... but the only real way to know if someone is matured is to really know the person, and spend time with them.
Now, of course, it shoud be said, that maturity level is relative, so mature to me may not be to you and vice-versa!

Society has created the standards of our matureaty. Marry them first, then have kids, keep one job, and pretend you're persuing the life of happiness. Don't get a divorce, don't quit that job, stay sober, and out of the nut house. Just depends whose set of rules you live by. If you were an outlaw biker, matureaty may mean a few other things. Well, I would consider a person as matured when he/she keep can make judgements and decisions rationally. In a situation where someone does them wrong, they don't hold grudges or get revenge. Instead, they face their opponents calmly to compromise or make peace.
