Littleton is a very spread out area and includes areas in Araphoe and Jefferson counties, as well as the City of Littleton. I live in unicorporated Jeffco, and there's nothing I'd call a bad neighborhood here. It's all pretty much suburban developments with lots of retail. You really need to determine your price range first and look at what's available. The schools are all good, but if you find property in the Cherry Creek School District, it's considered one of the best systems in the country. Find a home as close as possible to your jobs or public transportation like Light Rail, that would be my advice.

I think all the answers are very good but I would add just one thing. You should decide if you are looking for a larger, newer development or for something smaller which will often mean older. Littleton has a number of smaller developments that were built in the 60's and 70's that offer a small community feel. They can be a bit expensive but not all are super high priced. Littleton also has a number of larger newer classic suburbarn developments. As a few have mentioned there are really three or four school districts that have "Littleton" kids in them. They inlcude Cherry Creek and Littleton, two historically good districts, Douglas County Schools which is a huge growth district and Jeffco Schools which is the state's largest district. Good luck, I grew up in Littleton and it is a nice place to raise kids.

Littleton is quite simply one of the best places you'll ever find to raise a family. Decent schools, great neighborhoods, friendly people, family values, great churches, etc.

There really is no 'bad' neighborhood. I mean, there are some prestigious ones and some less prestigious ones. It all depends on how much home you can afford. Downtown Littleton is renovating itself and some of the homes around there are going to be hot. The Mineral area--south Littleton--is a pretty wealthy and lovely neighborhood. The Bow-Mar area just northeast of Littleton is a beautiful lake community with a county-club feel--though not as expensive as country club areas.

Unincorporated Jefferson County is lovely too. Look between Kipling and Wadsworth south of Bowles. Great schools and nice area. I live just north in Lakewood and it's the same sort of community--definitely worth a look.

Denver has got to be one of the most family-centered cities in the country. It is just a great city in which to raise a family. People are courteous, friendly, church-going, community-minded.

Not everyone loves Denver. But the truth is that those that most dislike it are the exact sort of people that Denver doesn't really care for. If you're a family person, you'll really just love it here.

Littleton is where I grew up. There are nice neighborhoods around Santa Fe and Mineral, unincorporated JeffCo. The school systems are good, I would recommend Littleton Public schools. Everybody on here is right, there really isn't a bad neighborhood. Check prices on houses, and when you get the chance to visit, walk through the Old Downtown Littleton. Have Fun!!!

You should focus on home prices and physical location, as there is nothing in Littleton I would call a "bad" neighborhood. Littleton may have gotten a bad reputation from the Columbine shooting, but things like that are not a common occurrence. You should feel safe anywhere in Littleton.

Best neighborhood is Greenwood Village- but property value it expensive. You're looking between $700,000 and $3,000,000 on a home depending on location.
