My laptop is now unbelieveably slow. It was very fast when I first got it. What can I do to fix this problem?? I have tried defrag, and disk cleanup, but they dont help.

I would take it for a tune up at Circuit City or Best Buy, they can suggest what is needed. You may have gotten a hold of spyware, which is not hard to do and they can clean that up. This may be the only problem. Good luck!!

Get Adaware, its free for personal use. It is a spyware program. Use it to remove all infections. Then do an indepth virus scan. Use Stinger if you dont have one. Search for the two mentioned above programs on the net, you will find them easily. Then go to Start, Control Panle and Add/Remove programs. There you must remove all programs you dont need. Then empty your trash if you dont do that. Now right click My Computer, Properties, and select the Advanced tab. In the Performance block click on Settings and again select the Advanced tab. In the Virtual Memory block click on change and see there that there is equal or more virtual memory allocated then the recommended amount. Then download Abexo registy cleaner for free and use it to clean the registry, do this at your own risk. Hope this helps you.
