Can these fish live togeather? I can't seem to find a definite answer either way, even from the pet store! Right now I have a Crown Tail and would like to add some Neon Tetra's.....will this work?

Suggestions for other fish to add?

They usually will do fine together. Sometimes a particularly aggressive betta will try to chase the neons, but since they are faster than a betta it's not a serious problem. What else to add would depend in large part on your tank size, but most other small tetras will do fine in a tank with a betta and neons. Cory cats are good in that mix as well.

Like others have said occasionally you will get a very aggressive Betta that wont tolerate any tank mates but usually it's a good combination.I have 4 neon tetras in a 5 gallon tank with my betta but if you have a 10 gallon that would be even better because tetras are schooling fish and it's usually recommended to have 5-6 in a group.

It depends on the Betta's personality i had a very passive Betta never bothered my neons but it also depends on how much room the fish have is there enough room to run if they need to i think the minimum would be a ten gal and even that is really small

An addition to MM's answer:

Do keep in mind that tetra ARE schooling fish. I have a 29 gallon tank that currently has a delta tailed betta male in it with a school of six neon tetra. I've never seen any issues with them and they've been together for.... ...four? five months? Something like that.

The Betta and Neon cannot survive together, not for any other reasons but because Betta's generally eat the Neon's due to their flashy colors and the semi glow that they give out in darkness. Please do not try this combination.
