I would suggest you to make some usp while you approach for new clients in market,

Being honest is the best when you answer your prospects question ..like why you ....Reason is simple, there is rush ..really rush of recruitment consultants in marekting...specially in india metros....they have very easy ( yes paid ofcourse ) access to resume database...
so the client has fair idea...

Why you .....is the reason. they will ask you to get some manpower for them...

I would suggest to make a strong model of recruitment...where you bring very strong match to organizations requiement...try to place one candidate with out any fee....as an offer....

love - Rakhi..

Find a niche , specialize in a type of business, industry or even a type of candidate. Try to focus on an industry that is hurting for qualified people like medical (nursing) etc.

-Next test the waters, call companies in your target industry and see if they are open to working with you , if they are open , after they get to know you , ask them to sign a formal agreement to outline payment terms.

- Begin your recruitment drives by targeting popular classified sites like Craigslist and post your help wanted ads., for more specialized niche players you may need to by lead lists. and do some cold calling sellig them on your opportunties.

at the end of the day recruiting is a big sales game you need to sell the employer on your great candidate and vice versa when all parties are excited and have high expectations they are more receptive and you complete deals and become successfull..

Set up a good hr website, these guys ( http://www.traxxinc.com )helped create my site http://www.americanhcare.com its a great way to project a professional image and garner leads.

Good luck

I wouldn't recomend it as a long term career path, unless you are very target driven, and even then the pay and satisfaction is not great, from people I have known who are in in this business. If you are interested in HR issues, you could go for CIPD qualifications, and try to enhance the workforce development/ retention aspects of your current role, as well as making it clear to your current employer that this is a direction that interests you. You could also consider becoming an NVQ Assessor, Occupational Psychologist etc- the Prospects for Graduates link below may offer some ideas.

Have a very specific angle. It is not an easy business to be in these days. With all of the on line resume services (Monster, etc.) a lot of employers no longer use agencies. So to succeed, you need a really specific way to add value. One option would be to specialize in a field where it is hard to pre-screen people--you could offer intensive pre-screening that would otherwise take employers too long to do themselves. Otherwise, look for other angles, or unusual marketing ideas. It is a brutal business.

Best advice .. Answer these questions for yourself ... Why would I be good at this? Where will I find prospective recruits? How will I connect recruits to clients?

Look at those who Franchise it. Talk to people doing it. Make a business plan. Walk around your area, see if there are others doing it. Visit libraries, read local newspapers, check out what jobs people are looking to advertise.
