Where to find a sailing mate???
Where to find a sailing mate???
Ok, maby one of you can suggest a solution.
Just where does a reasonably good looking, financially independant, man find a woman to share a wonderful life sailing (cruising) on a very comfortable large boat and also spending time ashore roaming the interesting places on a comfortable touring motorcycle.
I'm just looking to share life with a like -minded woman, but I seem to be coming up short on finding her-- any suggestions

Mitch, internet dating is your friend! be up front and dont fret the ones that get away. There are more fish in the sea.

I was extremely sucessful with internet dating and its a good way to get exposed to lots of different women. Just be upfront, open and honest. Be yourself, you dont want any suprises and neither does she.

Good Luck!

If you already have a large comfortable cruising boat that can accommodate a comfortable touring motorcycle and you've not already been approached there is another problem.

Seriously, if you can take the time off, I would suggest you crew on a large yacht in the Med. Get the lay of the land and customs, make contacts, then consider doing your cruising there.

Check the sailing magazines, for the sections on crew wanted. Many advertise there to catch rides or just to cruise.

In no particular order:

http://www.crewfile.com/
http://www.crewbay.co.uk/
http://www.cruiser.co.za/crewfinder.asp

The last one is probably best for what you're looking for. One thing I can tell you from personal experience... it'll be hard to find someone that isn't tied up with family, bills, responsibilities, etc. Mostly up to their ears with debt, and have to work all the time just to make the payments. You'll find women in their 60's and 70's ready to go, and maybe a few teens with nothing. Good luck though!

I'd join a club where people of like interests meet.
