Faure wrote a very beautiful Requiem Mass, and the Pie Jesu has to be one of the most beautiful works ever written. Also, Gerald Finzi, a British composer wrote a piano and orchestral piece called "Eclogue" which is also tremendously beautiful. You can play either or both at my funeral!

I really do not want music played at my funeral as there is just too much going on. Durring the visitation there are just too many people, each group having their own discussion. You can hear whispers and bits of each and every conversation going on. I would like pictures as we did for my mom. We had several poster boards with assorted pictures of family and friends from over the years. showing all stages of her life from birth until the very end. We also had assorted photo albums on tables for everyone to glance at. These were great conversation starters. People really liked to look and remember....it also gave a bigger picture of who my my mom really was. As with co-workers they only knew one side of her and family only knew their side as well as the acquaintances....so it gave a broad picture. Music to me would just crowd it all up. I remember sitting at moms funeral and my head was just bursting with all of the voices in the room. I would also like to have my children and close friends speak about me. Memories shared are so wonderful.
