Why did you get married...?

Question

Trying to remember why I did - not in a miserable way or anything, just can't really remember. Seemed like a good idea.

Are you getting married? What's the most important reason? Do the reasons differ greatly between men and women?

Please don't reply and say 'don't know, I'm not married...' that's boring.

I married my husband 17 days after we met I knew the moment I met him we were soul mates have been married 34 years he is 20 years older than me ,I have never regreted it and still love him passionately.

This sounds horrible but everyone else was so it just seemed to be the thing to do at the time. I knew the next morning it was the wrong thing to do. Suppose at the time I thought I loved him but I didn't really. (that was in the 80s)
Divorced 10 years later but now good friends.
I don't think I would marry again but then should never say never.

My husband and I were talking about this not long ago and we really don't know why we got married. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time. After nearly 14 years, we are still together and we are more like best mates than anything.

Good question! I think it was all about being in love and wanting to make the ultimate commitment. I had no intention of having kids so it wasn't for that reason but I wanted to show the world I was with my partner for life and take his name and all those old fashioned reasons.

We had a 'secret' wedding on a special licence with only the legally required two witnesses and no 'do' of any kind or fluffy dresses 'cos I wanted it to be just for us. Never regretted it for a minute.

i replaced into engaged while i replaced into 24 and married while i replaced into 26 Our wedding ceremony hues have been a diminished peach and chocolate brown We each and every had our brothers as witnesses (2 finished), it replaced into an exceedingly small wedding ceremony (14 people have been there including us and our reverend) Our reception replaced into held a month after our wedding ceremony, and we did no longer have assigned seating, maximum individuals did no longer sit down, it replaced right into a dinner social gathering We had a small chocolate cake and then a sort of cakes for individuals to compliment, i think of there have been 5 diverse options We went to Maui for 2 weeks We have been given married in Gleneden coastline, OR, a tiny city on the coast, only outdoors of Lincoln city

I got married in 2004 after 7 years together and we decided we wanted a family, but before doing so we wanted to do the right thing and totally commit to one another by getting wed and me taking his name.
3 years on and we are still madly in love and have a lil baby, we have the usual ups and downs but its the greatest feeling in the world, being a family unit.

well i lived with a girl for apx 4 years then she asked me to marry her.i had a good long think about it and did

7 years later she asked me another question can i have a divorce i didn't think twice i said yes

It was that next step for us. We had been dating for 5 years since high school and we knew it was time. We bought a house and went off to Jamaica and had a beautiful wedding nearly 5 years ago. He's my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life without him!
