I've just switched to 8mb BT broadband, I was with aol 1mb before and had no problems, but using Azureus and downloading a torrent with 6051 seeds and 1400 peers I have a download rate of a massive 3.2kb/s, Using AOL on the same torrent using the same software I can get speeds of 110/kb/s

your problem is the number of peers. if you have so many peers that means that azureus needs to negotiate new connections constantly and calculate who's got what and what ratio etc

hope that helps

This is a very relative thing, with torrents because ti all depends on a lot of factors:

1. n° of seeds + their connection speed
2. your connection speed
3. the fact whether you share or not...

Also, some ISP's block torrent traffic when they detect it. You won't find that in their terms of service though... Some torrent clients have a function to bypass this succesfully, such as µtorrent (http://www.utorrent.com). They encrypt their connection so the ISP can't recognize it.
My ISP limited torrent connections and thanks to µtorrent, I've been succesfully able to get my download speeds up again!

Good luck!

No there's no longer. despite the fact that, i prefer to propose downloading basically a million torrent at a time. do no longer exceed this as that's going to decelerate acquire velocity cases and ensure the seeds have extra seeders and leechers.
