I went to see POTC3 yesterday and loved it but was very annoyed when I got home only to be told by someone that I missed the final scene which was shown only after all the credits, like they did in POTC1. When the movie did finish, I initially thought that they might do a final scene, but the credits were going on for a while so I decided that there wasn't going to be a scene.
My question is, why do they do these final scenes after around 10 minutes of credits, especially after 90% of the people in the theatre have left?

we left when the credits started to make it in to see Bug on time.
i find this a little annoying too--but i would even feel a little better if (when the credits started) a message would flash and tell you to wait. because i have sat and waited sometimes and there has been nothing there--so i wasted that time and i hate that.

I stayed and saw it because my friend had heard there was a final scene before we went...it took ages to come on, and there were only about 20 people left out of like, 600. I don't know why they would put it on all that time after... hardly anyone is going to see it if they don't hear that its there.
Glad I stayed and watched, but seriously, the credits took ages!!!!

I missed this scene, too, only found out that it existed when I went on Wikipedia the next day. I then fownd the clip on YouTube, but I think it's been removed now.
I think that film makers put these little 'easter egg' clips in at the end purely to reward avid viewers of a film. Also, if you have a dad like mine, who insists on staying to the end of credits "Just to see who worked on the film", it's nice to have a little thing at the end to make the embarrasment of always being the last to leave the cinema worthwhile.
:D

wait for the dvd to come out, dvds contain loads of extra goodies. why pay over the top prices at the pictures. Plus with dvd you can race on to the final scene. You can even download the movie of the internet also.

Exactly the same thing happened to me when I went to see it! I'm going to have to get the DVD now as well :-(
I assume they want everyone to sit through (ie read) the credits but as they are so long, tedious, in a very tiny font and speed by fast I think they've got no chance!

They also did that in X-Men the Last Stand and that scene after the credits in X-Men the Last Stand telss it is not really the last. There is going to be an X-Men 4 abd I donj't mean the spinoffs. For more ino on X-Men 4 go to these websites below

to get people to watch the credits?
i used to work in a cinema and it was incredibly annoying when people would stay and watch the credits +final scene as we were waiting to jump in to clean but couldnt until everyone had gone.

A bonus.
I always consider it a bonus to the (not too lazy nor hasty but) grateful people. People who actually care who made all the good visual stuff, they have just been fed.
