if you got wired DSL connection on one of them, then enable adhoc network on wireless lan, on each dell.

now connect via network setting assign some ip address and netmask and default gateway

for example
Dell 1
IP: 192.168.10.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.10.2

Dell2
IP : 192.168.10.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.10.1

now enable internet connection sharing on Dell1 (which has DSL)

now you will be able access net on both pc.

if you do not have wireless enable, then use a hub/switch/router to connect them.

I hope this help

It is not practical. Consider this, if it were practical, then both houses would have to be able to differentiate their own signals from all the others in at least an 8 mile radius of each, which is probably a lot of buildings. Also, since the wireless cards and routers use low power microwaves to communicate, increasing the power to cover an eight mile radius would have the same effect as being in a giant microwave oven - not pleasant for you, or anyone nearby. Now, with a separate connection each, and a VPN (virtual Private Network) capable router for each, then you might be able to securely share content and files, but you would always be limited in each direction by the slowest upload speed, which would probably be 512Kbs if you were lucky. The reason for the slower speed, is that Upload speed is much lower than download speed on a ADSL - The A stands for Asymmetric. I hope this helps.
