I heard there are companies that you keep 100% of your commission but you pay a monthly fee .How is this working out for you, and do you think its okay for a brand new agent? I heard even if you dont sell you still pay the fee. But is it worth it to do it this way? Thanks for helping !

Re Max is one and it has been around for a long time using this concept. It tends to attract established agents that have the money to pay the monthly fees.

There are dozens of other companies that do the same thing. Compare what services they provide to the cost involved. Look around the area you want to do business in and see who seems to target that area.

Remember 100% of zero is zero. If a company charges you more or takes a cut of your commission and is able to provide you with guidance and support then you will make more money even though the costs initially seem higher.

At the ReMax office in my area, to keep 95% of your commission, it is a $1,200 a month fee. You can pay $400 a month and still only receive a 50/50 split until you start producing. And no matter which plan you choose, there is a monthly fee which you pay whether you are producing or not.

Starting off, this would be very challenging, because you may be paying out alot of money with nothing coming in. Even if you sell a house your first day, it may be 6 weeks before that house closes and you get paid.

As a brand new agent, I would avoid an office that has huge desk fees. If you opt for one, ask what that fee pays for. Signs, business cards, letterhead, advertising, E&O, franchise fees? These things add up too.

Good luck

Remax is a company that lets you keep 95% of your commissions, but you do have a monthly fee. The average fe in my office is 800/month. I would not suggest you join unless you are a seasoned agent you has a great clientele base. If not that monthly payment will kill you. Remax is a company where the average agent has been in the business for over ten years, and have a great customer base. Remax does not give phone time like other companies, you have to drum up 100% of your own business,

each and every state is differant. In Texas its an annual fee, yet you do might desire to save up mutually with your classes and take one to 2 classes each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days counting on how long you have had your license. examine mutually with your states license branch- they probably have an internet site.

This has to be some kind of new concept someone is developing. I've never heard of any realtor doing this. I look forward to seeing if someone comes up with an answer for you on this.
