Everyday I go to Speedway there is local 'bum' who tries getting handouts from people to get free beer. He's capable of working, but he has a free place to live and doesn't work thanks to the government, section 8, and welfare.
At first I gave him small amounts of money, but years later...now I can't stand the sight of him!
I warned him to stop asking me, but he insists I should give him money for his beer.
Last night, I lost my temper. I went to get some beer because it's a holiday weekend and I like to drink to calm my miserable life. I'm on unemployment and struggling to just barely make ends meet.
He approached me with his hand out. We was in the parking lot and I saw where he had almost $10 by bumming from others. $10 is more than enough for more than a 12 pack.
I punched him in his face and knocked him down. Then I spit in his face. A witness hollored, 'Hey man! That was uncalled for!'
He jumped in his car and fled as I was going to give him a piece also.
I'm not sorry!

I sympathize with your frustration, but you had no right to attack the bum or anyone else for that matter, you're actions were wrong, and as much as I'm disgusted by people that choose to sponge off of others, I still respect the fact that they're humans, thus I remain composed while turning them down for assistance of any kind. I totally disagree with the manner in which the current so-called welfare system is being managed, and I have often sent e-mails to various so-called political officials expressing my disgust and outrage regarding said issues, and I can only hope that more people will do the same, as well as refraining from giving bums hand-outs...

You know what you sow you reap. call it karma or what you will what you give you receive. No one makes you give him money. And who are you to judge any more than I have the right t to judge you, You took out your frustration on someone Else. He didnt make your life the way it is.
It is not his fault that your life is miserable.
I have had a lot of challenges in my life. That is life. I choose
to practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty!you can be a victem or a victor!
Keep living like that and your life will never change for the better!
God bless

Well you are partly to blame as you taught him to expect money each time from you. Perhaps, you shouldn't have got into that habit and have him get into the habit of expecting money from you. You should have told him quite clearly, that if he need the handouts for something negative as drinking- then he really is not in need of the money and left it at that. It's sounds like you took out your frustrations of a difficult day on him.

How many accounts do you have? I agree with you on the fact that people should not leech off of others just to get themselves drunk. I do not believe anyone who has not committed a crime deserves a violent act placed upon them. However, after 15 years I'd probably go crazy and bop him one too just to set him strait.

What happened then?
Now he doesn't try to 'bum' from me.
I have a reputation in my neighborhood.
I don't mean to hurt anyone, but I hate bums and I have a known temper.
(It took me 15 years to finally punch him in his face.)
I should have punched him when I first met him.
At least these people (bums) don't call the police.

Good job Mental.
He deserved a spit in the face.
You (I) get a star dude.
Actually, I wished I would have kicked him while he was down.
However, he doesn't ask for money from me anymore.
