Well done on joining the gym!. I think to get the most out of it, you've got to get into a routine. I like to go about 4 times a week, and always go first thing in the morning. It really depends on the type of work you do. If you have the time to go in the morning, it sets you up for the day. I find going after work can be very tiring. To get the best results, start with an all round workout to include cardiovascular and free weights. Just make sure to get a routine going and you'll see the benefits in no time!. Hope that helps!.

Rome wasn't built in a day, you cant get your results in one day, set short term and long term goals. Most people at the gym are very helpful and can give encouragement. Do a mix of strength training and aerobic exercise. As long as you stay consistent and do it every week you will just continue to build. everyone starts somewhere, me at age 20, 60lbs on bench, and by age 26 about 2 years ago I benched 275lb. It takes time but it helps make me feel better and mentally being tough.

Try and find a training partner to help keep you motivated. Take a picture of yourself every 6 weeks so you can see the difference as change i gradual and you might not notice and lose motivation. Also set relistic goals and finally eat well and train hard.
