They were actually second cousins once removed. But still, they are blood relatives. What kind of trash does that?

I have heard it said that if you go back four generations everyone is related to everyone else somehow. The laws against incest are primarily to prevent the passing on of bad genes. By the time you get to the distance in kinship there is between Elizabeth II and Prince Philip that chance has been weakened so much as to be virtually non-existent. In fact, in the UK, until relatively recently - really the beginning of the 20th century - there was a great deal of inbreeding as people in the country rarely moved beyond their own village and usually married within that community. That is one reason for the legend of the 'village idiot'. There usually was one, because of constant inbreeding.

Nearly all the Royal families of Europe are interelated, getting married to a 3 cousin is not illegal.
But with time cuts down the gene pool.

By the way you cant have a crime against incest!

But

You can have a law against the crime of incest!!

Just right Lord a 66 inch bust? Good Queen Victoria would have given Pamela Andersen a run for her money. How in heck did she rise up, it have got to had been like those bobo dolls who teeter. Let me put it this fashion i have never received a 66 in bust line however i'm now not definite at eighty two you'll call HRH a center aged woman , except 164 is how long you plan to are living. I am someplace in between.

Just so you know, it's not a crime in America to marry your first cousin. One of my first cousins married another of my first cousins--yes on the same side of the family. However you and I may feel about it personally it is not considered incest and it is not a crime... they went to a geneticist and the doc said it was ok to have children and they have with no problems...now if their children were to marry cousins etc then the problems start

In UK, it is not illegal to marry even your first cousin, though it isn't recommended because of possible genetic defects.
I had always thought it was illegal until doing some family research and found that my step grandmother's first husband was her first cousin. When I looked into this, I found (thankfully) she hadn't married illegally. However, 2 out of her 3 children by her first husband died in infancy because of weak lung capacity. I don't know whether or not this was a defect due to her marrying her first cousin, though.
PS - my step grandmother wasn't trash!

It is illegal to marry a first cousin, I believe, but other than that, no we do not have laws against marrying cousins. If you think the European Royals are incestuous, you should take a look at the Japanese Imperial Family tree....

Thy're third cousins so no biggie; however, via Queen Victoria most of the royal families of Europe are inter-connected in at least one way. Yes, lots of interbreeding among the royal houses.

there is only a crime if you marry your first cousin. royal families tend to intermarry to keep the money and power in the family.
