Why does our country continue to do business with China?

Question

If we know that China is sending us dangerous / contaminated products, AND we know that China is torturing / murdering it's people in unspeakable ways by the thousands, and then harvesting their organs for sale, why do we continue to do business with a country like this?

Because they are a big and powerful country, much like the U.S., but actually even more so. When you have the most people in one country and a powerful government such as them, you cannot afford to tick them off. In fact, many of the countries around the world are finding China as a powerful ally. Besides, you don't think the U.S. is guilty of some of the same atrocities? Of course we don't hear alot of it, because our government will only tell us what they want us to hear. Dealing with China is a necessity right now and with our current situation in the world, we cannot afford another enemy, especially a big one.

China is a danger I have come to this conclusion after spending a year observing a Chinese forum.CHINA DAILY Internet forum and reading political comments coming from China in the media

If some of the repeated comments are anything to go by China has a definite interest in Australian TERRITORY. perhaps a long term one but China thinks long term. They talk about Australia being in "China's back yard" and in the same "region"as China, They repeatedly say "Anglos" have "no right" to be in the region.

But listen to this, there is a thread called "CHINESE inventions and Discoveries"There are a few real Chinese inventions and discoveries in it but most are fraudulent claims that China invented almost everything, Nuclear power, Levi trains, TV, Radio, and even Newton's first law is claimed as Chinese by using obvious forged "Evidence" They claim China "discovered America" and show a forged map claiming China discovered America,The "map " was proved as a fraud by western experts because it failed carbon dating tests and showed inland references which no mariner could possibly have been able to see or record; nevertheless they ferociously defend this fraud as if it were fact.

Western industry is simply being copied on a grand scale and I think the Chinese government turn a blind eye to patent infringement. They even copy names in comical fashion like Rover becoming "Roewer"or something like this

They are now building the biggest navy the world has ever seen

They will not hold back growth because of global warming (See today's news) and are opening a NEW COAL FIRED power station each week, actually 50 a year. When the floods come via global warming they will need more territory

They have massive dolllar reserves which already give them great power over the USA and the west

China is the best argument for keeping our nuclear deterrent I can think of

Stupid is as Stupid does! why would you trust people that absolutely abhor you with food products that you have to eat or drink? Ever wonder why so many Americans are sick and dying? By the way, why is it that the British come to this country, insult Our collective intellegence as their own Country is going to Hell in a handbasket? could it be their little island can't sustain itself and their own garbage? they are now in the world trade group.they send us all the electronics this country has for the most part.they have made american companies close down or send the jobs to other cheaper countries.we dont charge them much in the way of taxes on importing.our us exports to their are taxed heavily.if we stop buying so much of their product and charge more taxes,1) these items will cost more and 2) we wont get as many of those items..which makes them cost more.
china has us by the balls,we owe them so much money that if they took that money and put it in the euro market we would have a huge problem.our dollar in truth is only worth the paper its printed on.we borrow from the world bank like crazy.
at one time in our countries history a couple presidents have tried to move away from the world bank...guess which ones died.kennedy was one of them.
china is raising a huge army right now.in the bible at the end times it says the great hordes of the east will come down upon that side of the world.they have updated new tanks planes and submarines,which are abit comparable to up to date military.
have you ever seen the interviews with chinese citizens....they are sooooooooo brainwashed over there....and prolly scared.its finally showing how bad our trade policy is with china by whats going on now.

China is not sending us dangerous/contaminated products but it is our lax rules that are allowing them.If our government wants to stop it it can do it.
Secondly torturing/murdering thousands and harvest of organ sale is a serious allegation which has to be authenticated by the International human rights organization.
So based on the the above two weak arguments of which one has to be proved why should not we carry on business with China?

the contaminated products were an accident because of the low standards set in chinese factories. As for the torturing and murdering every country including the USA does it, not that I am defending it but it is true, yes China does it to a greater extent however America must to be allies with China and besides trading with china is slowly turning them into a capitalist market which will eventually turn them into a democracy.

All governments and businesses are cynical. They have high moral standards for us all until the word profit is mentioned. The high moral standard then only applies to other people.
Who cares about the poor dispossessed distressed widowed and hungry. After all business has no sentiment.

Untill the people of that country stand up for themselves you would be isolating them even more if all trade were to be stopped. If you live in a democratic country and know that another's products are harmfull , why would you buy them? They won't ship products if you won't buy them.
As far as organ sales go, I hope I have the fortitude and character to refuse a heart transplant knowing the heart came from China....................but I doubt that.

Because trade and business doesnt work like that.The people who make money from importmg and exporting are not in the least concerned with the plight of the inhabitants of particular country.No business is about making money,not morality.Always has been(What about the slave trade) and always will be.I dont agree with it any more than you but we are not the people who decide these things.

I'm English and lived here for over a year now, fluent in the language too to the extent I work as a freelance technical translator. What you hear is total bull, much like Iraq has weapons of mass destruction line.

Right now the US and UK wage the most wars in the world more likely we send contaminated products haha.
