I heard Cher's song and I thought Cher was a woman but her/his voice is way beyond rough/coarse for a woman.

Cher does have a tenor sound to her voice, but she is all woman. As others have pointed out, she was married and gave birth to kids.
Voice parts does not always correspond to gender. At a Baptist church, a band came to sing. It was 2 men and 2 women. However, in their first number, it sounded like 3 tenors and a bass. In another song, one of the women was actually singing bass.
Oh, and if someone is a male to female transsexual, it is correct to *always* refer to them with female pronouns. It is *always* considered rude to refer to them with male pronouns. Most MtF TSs take being referred to as guys as hate speech that is just as bad as yelling the N-word. Transsexuals are not men who get sex changes or men who become women. MtF transsexuals are normal women born with the wrong parts and who get reconstructive surgery.

Get real. She's as feminine as a woman can get. People's voices tend to get deeper as they age and she's 61 years old. Her voice was deep when she was younger. Sonny sounded more feminine that Cher did.

Since when can men marry other men (Cher has been married)? And she has children. Having a rough voice doesn't mean she was a man.

cher is most definately a woman i remember her back in the days of the sonny and cher show maybe her age and all the ciggs she smoked might have affected her voice but she is all woman
