I grew it from a seed 7 years ago and it hasn't flowered yet. I grow it indoors. Any ideas ?

Birds must be crowded to bloom. Think there must be at least 7 pups in the pot. Allow them to become root bound.

I grew a Bird of Paradise from seed 20 years ago and that took 5 years to bloom. They like to be pot bound and not too much fertilizer. If you over fertilize you will get abundant leaf growth but no flowers. A lot of plants will flower if they think they are going to die, it sounds cruel but keeping them on the dry side encourages them to flower. Good luck, they are well worth it when you do get them to flower. Mine has flowered every year since it's first one, except for the time I put it in too large a pot!
