Speaking from my experience I find a lot of men treat the female bartenders like they are there for men's amusement. I've seen men no longer tip a bartender because they won't go out to dinner with them. I say these men degrade women in this job as a stereotype. As a female bartender the male customers would like you to be their best friend, their date, their dinner partner, their psychiatrist, their mom, and prostitute! (Girl's you just thought you were waiting on people, right?) You do not think of a male bartender in those ways do you? Bartending can be the easiest job in the world to some and the most degrading experience in life to others!

It's work, and it' lucrative work! I'm a bit put out by your question, and some of the insinuations. I was a bartender for better than 25 years, and even at 18, I dressed appropriately. I was not a gold digger. It was my first job, and even after I got an office job I continued to do it as a second job for the extra money. You should never categorize by the job, but truly look at the person.

No, I respect all people regardless their personal choices, as long as no one is being harmed, and most of the females that work for bars, mens clubs, and/or Hooters... are doing so to earn a good living, and they deserve as much respect as any of us.

Bartenders and waitresses are honorable working people. I'll give the go-go dancers the benefit of the doubt and say the same. Do you have some problem with these people?

People judge so easily and unfairly. Some Guys do think Girls that work at these places are easy. But hey when Coyote Ugly came out every girl liked the main character and every guy wished she was their Girl....and Izzy in Grey's paid for her Studies and I know its just fiction but so many girls do it.And everyone loves Izzy and no one judges her.I think as long as you don't sell your body for sex...its okay to make money with your talents!!

No I don't.I think girls that work in the sex industry have very low self esteem.I think alot of these women are so used to relying on their looks, that they don't understand that they can contribute alot more to society than shaking their bon bon.

The jobs in this industry are degrading, but the women aren't.

Not really, maybe they have no choice but to do what they do. And ultimately, they can try to lead their job with dignity.
