You have to understand your dad: If you were given a hickey by your boyfriend, it means that your boyfriend wants to go far...all the way, even. Your dad doesn't want you too, because you're young and everything. He's probably more worried about the fact that you have a three year age difference. He probably thinks your more vulnerable to getting pregnant because your boyfriend is so much older than you.

Just leave the subject alone for a few days, then talk to your dad. Tell him that you promise you won't do anything he would consider ''stupid" with your boyfriend. Tell your boyfriend that next time he's give you a hickey, there will be consequences!

Honey, I know your upset with your dad now...but in a few years you'll be thanking your dad for doing this for you...

A 17 year old boy with a 14 year old girl has no good intentions in mind...

But, furthermore, if you all were dumb enough to give each other hickeys where they could be seen, then you shouldn't be doing anything in the first place, even though I'm older now and married, any hickeys I get are put someplace where they can be hidden.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but your father is right, as hard as it is to accept. 14 is way too young to be dating a 17 year old. He is most likely using you as an easy piece of 'you-know-what'. It may feel like Love, or whatever, but a 'boy' that puts a hickey like that on a woman is immature, and has no respect for you or how you will appear to other people. You are a piece of meat to him. Trust me, and every other woman/man who is telling you this. We have ALL been there, and know better now that we are older. Hickey's do not look 'cool'.... they look slutty, and that is nothing to be proud of. If this boy cared for you, he would want your parents approval, and would never do anything to cause you pain or embarrass you.

Well I would not allow my 17 year old to date a 14 year old, or vise versa. BUT if my child at any age came home saying his gf or she was pregnant I don't know what I would do. My daughter is only 1 so I have a while to worry about that. I am going to discuss with my daughter early on about this type of stuff. I am very open and I want her to talk to me. I wouldn't kick my child out, as much as my husband prob would want to. Its something you have to deal with. If it was my son that got someone pregnant I would get together with her parents and her. Communication is key. If it were my daughter, I would like to talk to his parents. I could never kick my 14 year old out of the house, and I'm pretty sure that illegal. Discuss options. I am pro-choice so I would explore abortion, but mainly try to push adoption. No one know how they would react until in the situation. So all these people that say things about someones parenting in the situation, they never know, it could be them one day!

Good for your dad ... he's acting like a father! At 14, you shouldn't be seeing any 17 year old boy. He's out of your league and at 14 you're just out of Statutory! I wouldn't let my daughter see anybody with an age difference that great when she was your age. Furthermore, if that bonehead and you were so stupid to put a hickey where it could be seen, neither of you is old enough to be dating anybody!

A 14 year old girl has no business with a 17 year old boy. Try dating someone your own age and keep it clean. You can date for years and just have a lot of fun without taking things to a sexual level. Enjoy being young.

Good, a 14 year old has no business going out with a 17 year old, thats a huge age difference in your age range. And you have no business engaging in that kind of activity at your age. Slow it down, or you are going to have a rough start to your life.

Your dad is being a dad.

My daughter is 13 and I flipped out when I found out she was "going out with" an 8th grader. Furthermore, I found out that this boy was no good, skipped school, smoked, and failed a grade.

My daughter is very beautiful, talented, and into cheerleading, and plays every sport. I advised her that she needed to start to think things through, even though its tough at that age. I asked her what her church friends, grandparents and coaches and teachers would think of her if she was dating a boy like this. I explained that me and her mother can't control who she talks to and hangs out with at school, but we do have control of that outside of school.

We as parents have to really be careful on how we handle teenagers and sex, especially girls. I don't yell at or talk down to her when she is in trouble. I've learned that this kind of discipline only leads to worse things happening such as rebellion. We have an open floor policy at our house about anything such as sex, dating, etc.

Communication is the best thing parents and their children should have open at all times.

I'm sure eventually your dad will calm down and just talk to him. Understand why he forbids this sort of thing and you need to start thinking things through as well.

Most guys just want one thing.

He is too old for you.
You should be with people closer to your age.
The hickey is one thing, but the sticky will not make you happy.
