Well regerugged the thing is, Bush lied us into a war that has now taken so much of our resources that our ability to fight Al Qaeda around the world has been comprimised. This administration was so incompetent about what the fall out of invading Iraq would be that we are screwed on many levels.

That's why the Bushies are now emphasizing that we're in a world wide war against terror that will last generations.

How will he keep public support for a real world wide war now that he's enabled Al Qaeda to spread? Check out the dictatorial powers Bush has granted himself in case of a catastrophe. Bush determines when he gets these powers, there is no authority for Congress to act, and no one can challenge this directive in court.

Yeah, fighting them over there is sure working wonders. I'm not letting my guard down though. I have strategically placed land mines in my back yard just in case some terrorists should show up there this afternoon while I'm grilling. How's our open southern border? Is it secured or can anyone still just walk across into our country?

Yes, the idea that the US war in Iraq can be justified as as a legitimate attempt to "pin down" the AQ is laughable.

Clearly there are some Americans stupid enough to believe it. The only real question is whether America's leaders are stupid enough to believe it too, or if they're simply lying.
