I have seen the bikes in the shop and they are so shiny, they almost look wet but they aren't.
Anyone know what it is that makes them so shiny?

We going to Feungirola next month for European Hog Rally and want our bike to look the best it can. We have a dual coloured Ultra Classic of Cobalt Blue and Pewter.

I totally agree with Achrimsdale. I too use AutoGlym Super Resin Polish and AutoGlym High Gloss Finish. Used in that order the finish on the paintwork is just phenomenal. As for the chrome and other metals then I would use Autosol and a toothbrush, then clean off with a cloth. If you need to get oil or grease off of anything then the Orange hand cleaning wipes are superb. They take off even old stuff really easily and do not damage anything. The AutoGlym products that I mentioned work a treat on your crash helmet visor too. Mine stays water repellent for months after an application.

You really don't need anything fancy or exotic.

Windex cleans all surfaces quite well.
Any of the "Instant Detailer" type products have silicone in them and create that instant shine.
I've even known some guys to use 'Pledge furniture polish" which is also a silicone cleaner.
MeGuires makes a polish called 'Show car glaze' that puts a deep shine on paint.
It is not necessary to use chrome polish on chrome unless you are trying to scrub something off of it.

1. windex
2. instant detailer
3. high quality silicone wax
4. chrome polish, if the job calls for it.

That would be because they are brand new, and the manufacturer polished it to make you go "ooooh I want THAT one". There's so many types of polish out there, but I would bet Harley make their own polish, which you would be able to use and pretty much guarantee the result.

Can't get beeter than the product used to keep the Royals Daimlers and Rollers gleaming and used in countless classic car clubs.
AutoGlym polish and then Autoglym Extra Gloss on top to seal it.

The best product is the one that Harley-Davidson themselves recommend - S100. Check out your local H-D dealer or the U.K importer, Battistinis, for the full range. S100 will give your bike the finish you desire.

It is called Harley Glaze. It is the best thing to shine up paint, chrome and works great on mirrors too. You can get it at your local dealer.
