I think he'll improve and be adequate this year because he's smart, while at Auburn he had a different O coordinator every year he was there, but still was able to grasp the new schemes and run the offense efficiently enough to get wins, and there's a precedent of players getting better the more they understand what they're doing, and a healthy Clinton Portis will certainly help matters.

I am not a Redskins fan, but I would like to see them win once and for all!!!!
Yes, I do believe that Jason Campbell will indeed make a marked improvement in his skills this year as the season progresses.
The 'Skins may have to depend upon Clinton Portis' legs and a (hopefully) stout defense going back close to '05 form in order for Campbell to have time throughout the first quarter of the season (margin of time for a QB who's been around and who was a good prospect) to learn to digest what the defenses are throwing at him, but I think he will be quick to learn, the Redskins liked his intelligence and physical tools to begin with.
By the time everyone is in the playoff hunt, The Redskins should be alive at that point. I believe that they will be able to get a playoff berth with an 8-8 or 9-7 record in that division this year.

He's going to be fine. Last year he almost brought the Skins back by a large deficit to beat the Giants. He's quick on his feet, but he's a pass first run last QB. Don't forget one thing, this is Joe Gibbs guy, Joe handle's all things players. He drafts, trades and signs. He wanted Sean Taylor, Carlos Rodgers, Jason Campbell and La Ron Landry. Campbell will be more than fine, he will be great. He's throwing to one of the most underrated set of hands in the game Chris Cooley. Not to mention big possession guy Santana Moss (I bet the Jets wished they kept him). If the D shores up, they will be tough to beat. With the running tandem they have, the receivers, the QB, the Skins should be in prime position.

I think he has a really good chance. Joe Gibbs has always been a good developer of quarterbacks. And he has a good supporting cast at wide-receiver: Santana Moss, Brandon Lloyd, and Antwaan Randel-El. Chris Cooley is also a really good receiver at tight end. The Redskins also have a pair of good offensive tackles in Chris Samuels, and Jon Jansen which always helps in the passing game.
If he doesn't break out this year, he probably will next year. It's hard to figure out just when a quarterback will break out; but the Dan Marino and Ben Roethlisbergers who break out in their first years are very rare. Most quarterbacks usually breakout sometime between their third and fifth years in the league. And so much of a quarterback breaking out is also dependant on his other offensive teammates.
Often teams will stupidly give up on a developing quarterback when what's been happening is really more the fault of his supporting cast than the quarterback. Before finally winning the Super Bowl, Tampa Bay gave up on three quarterbacks who eventually won the Super Bowl with their second team: Doug Williams, Steve Young, and Trent Dilfer. A lot of it is because it's a team sport, and even though quarterback is a high profile position, no one can do it all themselves. I really wouldn't be surprised if either David Carr, or Joey Harrington - two highly drafted quarterbacks who were given up on by their first teams - eventually get deep in the playoffs or win the Super Bowl if they get with the right team.

It depends on what you mean by a break out year. Campbell is not a shotgun scrambling admiral of a QB. I think if the Redksins able to take the focus off of Campbell with a good running game, then Campbell can make big unexpected plays.

You know I don't really see a Qb in Jason Campbell I thought Mark Brunell would be able to do something my god he had Moss, Lloyd, and Randel El, so I'm not really an Auburn fan and i really don't like the way number 17 plays ball so I don't believe he will have a break out year, They need a new Qb, that's not Brunell, Campbell or Todd Collins!

This is a question better suited in the form of management. Does management have the patience to allow the young man to develop? Aside from the running tandem of Betts and Portis this team has serious holes and having one pick that went DB...I don't know. Cooley and Moss are going to have their moments but they won't be enough as the redskins will finish last in their division.
Depending on what happens with Marc Bulger of the Rams, final year of his contract with no extension, I see Snyder spending dollars!

Given the Redskins recent track record with ruining QB's, I'd say Gibbs will lack the patience to let this guy develope and build around him.

Yeah. Last year he got put in late, so he had less time to learn. If he starts next year all season, then he should be in good shape with stars like Portis, Moss, Cooley, Randle El and their D-Fense
