How can they honestly say that leaving 3 babies in a hotel room, unattended is 'responsible', as reported yesterday. I think they are responsible of gross neglect. They should be hanging their heads in shame.
Stop bleating how much you miss your daughter, if you had done the right thing as a parent you would of either have been looking after her at the apartment, left her with a babysitter or had them with you, NOT galavanting about with your friends leaving them home alone.
They weren't thinking about her then.
It may well have seemed like they were just sitting in their garden, oh to have that size back yard !!!.And that it was a safe place to go. So what, Mark Warners is a no go area for any one who is not purer than pure. Get a life, as educated people you would know no where is 'safe' for any child, especially alone in a hotel room. Never mind a random paedo, what about the chance of a fire, waking up scared and alone, or waking up and hurting themseleves or wandering off?

What you say above.... your not opening your eyes as you write this question... could a child not wake up and wonder without a parent knowing?? do children not get took off the streets and out of back gardens?? My son woke and walked out of my front door at 1am in the morning.. without me even knowing it, he is only 3, iv now put an additional lock on the front door, if he had been took, would you have slated me for not having adequate safety(such as barbed wire!!) around all exits for my kids? this is blown way out of proportion, they KNOW they did wrong, i would not have left my kids like that, but does this mean they are truly not allowed to WANT their daughter back? come on.. thats crazy talk, mistake or no mistake, they are her parents, only they and their family have to live with whatever happens, not you or anyone else.

Totally agree and this has all been said before - let us move on - surely there must be other news issues for us to discuss?! None of this is news any more after all!!!
And how can we be so horrid?!
The parents are the horrid ones for thinking it was ok to go out and enjoy themselves eating and drinking without poor Maddy and her little siblings - leaving them home alone and unsafe!Try and put yourself in Maddy's shoes for once and stop being so pathetic!
They are to blame - and hands up who has a garden without fencing so an abductor could get past you and out?!
I hope they are eaten up with guilt for the rest of their sad lives and that their other children question how they could have left them when they get older!
They don't deserve children - they may have more degrees than a thermometer but they have no degree of common sense! And I am sick of the whole subject!
They were responsible - or should I say irresponsible and they didn't care - they just hoped their accessory would be ok - and this time it wasn't!
Would Kate have left her handbag in the apartment without locking up - would Gerry have left his wallet/credit card? - no too worried that they might go overdrawn - money is everything to them!
Never mind they can spend some more and get a replacement - wonder if she was insured?!
Anger at their attitude is not in it!
I wish they were in England where they might have been answerable!
Never mind blaming the police force over there - look at how it happened - and then prosecute them for their neglect and stop feeling sorry for them and start feeling sorry for Maddy and her siblings!

I am absolutely positive as a single parent if I had left 3 children under 4 in their own house - never mind in a foreign country - while I went off out for the evening, social services would be down on me like a ton of bricks. Even if I believe what they say and Madeiline was in bed at 9pm how do we know she was at 9.03pm and not wondering round the apartment crying for her mum. Whether she had been taken or not, its not rocket science to realise children aged 4 and under cannot cope in an emergency and would be very scared to be left alone.
I sincerely hope for the sake of the twins social services get involved. If they leave them alone in a foreign country goodness knows what happens in this one.

Naive? Maybe a young teen Mother is Naive, or someone whose hearts in the right place but they are uneducated, or a first-time parent who has a lot to learn. But Kate and Jerry McCann?? They are the least Naive people Ive seen for a long time! They are canny, clever, educated, experienced 38 year olds, in highly authoratitive jobs, hardly what you,d call Naive! The only "N" word that can be attributed to them, is NEGLIGENT.

I agree with you. I am getting fed up with having this in our faces every day.
Yes we all hope she is safe and that she is found.
If she is should she and her siblings be placed with social services until such time a caring respnsible family can be found for them.
Sorry but I will not be giving money to their fund so that they can stay there. They should come back to Britain and be prosecuted. She could be anywhere and if and when she is found they can go collect her. The police are perfectly capable of doing their job without them swanning around.
Like I said why are they not being hauled over the coals by social services

i agree totally but i also have a comment for
MCC..I am also a single mum and i can assure you if it had been you or i that had left them alone the press would be having a field day with us..
"should single mums be able to take children on holidays?"..."thats typical of a single mum to go drinking in a bar and leave her kids alone probably wanting to meet a man"... how can you not see that?

this is a hard one to even find the words to describe what happen to poor Maddy ..were the parents to blame ? ..of coarse they were ...but show me some one who has not made a mistake and i will show you someone who has done nothing ..we all make mistakes...most do not have such tragic consequences ..they have to live with it ..we don't ..we never left our kids ..ever ..but i have lost count how many tiny tots walk down our street on the way to the local shop to buy sweets ..any of them could have been a Maddy ..if only we could get rid of all those perverts ..hangings too good and they seem to be protected by the government ..god help us all

i loved his overdraft comparison! now that was class! i now know exactly how they feel cos its a right bummer to run out of money isnt it! lol no it wasnt like eating in the garden at all. and for educated ppl they are extremly dumb. no where is safe for young children or adults for that matter and what they did was unforgivable. never mind whats done is done, thats not the point. i doubt they've learned a lesson from this or they'd be urging parents not to make the same mistake. selfish selfish parents and i have nothing but contempt for them. that poor little girl.
