Those are all good suggestions, but the bottom line is ... the baby will come when it's ready and not one second sooner. Try to relax and get some rest. There won't be much of that when the baby finally does arrive. Congratulations, good luck and God bless!

Why can't you have sex? Was it causing problems earlier in the pregnancy with dilation and such? If that's the case and you are this close, I say go for it, I don't understand why you would not be allowed to have it at 39 weeks. Could try walking too. Good luck.

Try some nipple stimulation, that can help bring on contractions......don't get carried away, as they can be strong. STAY AWAY FROM CASTOR OIL!!! Anything that is going to make you poop can do the same to your baby. Ingestion/inhalation of meconium in utero can be very harmful to baby and cause serious respiratory issues. Call your doctor and see what they recommend, perhaps they will consider induction. Walking and a warm bath are also excellent suggestions. Hang in there!

Massage areas around the ankles. There is an area there that can bring on labour. It worked for me for 2 out of 3 pregnancies that were overdue.
Long walk can help.
Other things people say include eat a hot curry (as hot as you can handle), raspberry leaf tea, and yes sex (or equivalent!)
Good luck, hope your labour goes and well and you and your baby are healthy and happy!

asked to be enduced, I did cause walking hurt me so much, sitting, laying down. EVERTHING. I went as far as going to a new ob to have it done
( cause my orig. was a complete B***H to me when i went to labor and delivery cause i was hurting so bad, sucks to be told i made a mistake coming in. When i was told to if i started hurting really bad to come in)
So at 39 wks i enduced and had our baby girl. No comlications or anything. My First OB doctor wasnt too pleased but hey she can kiss my butt
Why are you not alllowed to have sex. A mans sperm is suppose to help thin the membranes of the vagial walls and more.

Try sitting in a warm bath for about 1/2 hour. Also I was told to do the vacuming and that would help.
Good luck & hope this works for you.

Just start walking. Walk, walk, walk. I got to the hospital when I was in labor (dilated 1 cm) and they wanted to send me home. I had to walk around for 2 hours until I got to 3 cm and they kept me. Good luck! I've also heard spicy food helps too.
