General policy is don't hire anyone over 50. Insurance providers claim that it costs more for older people because of age related health issues and also they are close to retirement.
A recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling on discrimination stated that there is no such thing as discrimination anymore because of all the laws that have been passed (get real!).
I am 58,have been denied jobs because I don't speak Spanish.
Others just say they aren't hiring or take my application and file it somewhere.
Back in 1983,there was a news segment on employment laws.
According to it women had to be hired first, then minority males followed by 18 to 25 year old white males then 45 and up white males,25 to 45 years old white males were the last to be hired regardless of education, training or experience.
The real truth is that the older you are the harder it is to get a job unless you have the exact qualifications and not a lot of competition for the job.

Yes I believe they do. Older women may have more education than the younger ones but the younger ones post an ability to be there longer than the older ones.
I would say at the age of 50 +

I don't think women get discriminated so much by their age but as how they look. Meaning whether you are heavy or skinny. I have been on both ends of the spectrum and I can tell you I got treated alot differently. And I see other women getting treated this way also.

I believe the experts indicate that age discrimination starts around 40...try looking up age discrimination laws......I personally believe it starts around age 45.
Go the to the equal employment opportunity commission and check the laws out.

No I don't think that I work with many different women all different ages.
Some jobs carry age limitations, & degree limitations ...etc.
Combined all together would total allot of jobs for older women.
